The Department conducts research on regional and country-specific issues concerning developing countries. It analyzes developments in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa, the role and influence of developing countries in global affairs. It examines political, diplomatic, economic, security, and social-cultural developments in these regions and countries, as well as China’s relations with the countries concerned.
