The Department conducts research on Latin American and Caribbean regional and country-specific issues. It analyzes developments in Latin America and the Caribbean and relations between China and Latin America. It examines political, diplomatic, economic, security, and social-cultural developments in these regions and countries, as well as China’s relations with the countries concerned.
